My voice was absolutely gone from screaming constantly this morning, reduced to a low rumble that I couldn’t make louder if I wanted to. Feels like it’s been getting a little worse every day, honestly. Went downstairs to get breakfast and it felt like everybody else was exhausted from the late night previously and sore from all the moving they did.I’m enjoying getting to spend so much time with friends but it’s really wearing on me at this point, trying to do so much in a week. Still, you only get to see them once a year, so…
I went ahead and agreed to go to Copenhagen with a large group; we hit up a local game store and most people scored some old PAL games and consoles, which was great. The sun was out and shining but there wasn’t much wind, which resulted in most people feeling very warm and sweaty, myself included. Turns out having 40+ people all buying things from a game store with one clerk manning it also took ages, so we had to pivot plans from going further into Copenhagen to see some cool local stuff and get food to grabbing food at the central train station, due to having a prior booking for a bowling alley.
Bowling was fun, but I’m exhausted and not able to focus, and frankly I’m shit at bowling when I’m fully awake and not sweaty. So I did pretty horribly. Afterwards, there was mention of a group photo, but everybody got fixated on a punching strength machine at the back of the bowling alley, to the point people who were tired, slightly injured, and extremely hot in the unconditioned venue were getting up to leave.
It felt like everybody was quiet on the train, whether due to exhaustion, overheating, or frustration. Either way, we all made it back here. Writing this just after getting into my room; going to grab a quick shower before watching two runs later tonight and getting to bed at a reasonable hour, hopefully.
Admittedly, I miss my girlfriends. I wish that they could’ve come along, that I could’ve gotten to hang with them, actually get to spend some physical time with them like I am everybody here. Maybe next year.
